The Young Photography Festival 2019 was launched in Ha Noi on March 26, by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as part of the activities to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2019)

The festival aims to encourage the development of young photographers, contributing to promoting creative activities and publishing works reflecting contemporary living through the prism of young Vietnamese photographers.

According to Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, the theme of this year’s event is “Viet Nam today”, to encourage photographers to reflect on the contemporary life of young people and Vietnamese people and culture, national construction and defence, in addition to the activities of Viet Nam in foreign countries and other contents towards the value of truth, good and beauty.

All Vietnamese citizens, between 18 and 35 years of age, living both in and outside the country, are eligible to enter.

Photographers can send entries directly to, until July 15, 2019.

The outstanding works and awards ceremony will take place in Ha Noi on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the capital’s liberation day (October 10, 2019).
