KATHMANDU: Three women climbers from Nepal, India and China are going to scale Mt Everest this season as a team with an objective of empowering women in the region and spreading the message of universal peace and friendship.
The three women who are going to climb Mt Everest are Kanchhi Maya Tamang from Nepal, Kalpana Dash from India and Liyamu Ma from China.The expedition will be guided by world-renowned mountaineer Pemba Dorje Sherpa who successfully climbed Mt Everest 18 times as a leader and is a holder of six Guinness world records.
According to a statement issued by Nepal Tourism Board, Visit Nepal Year 2020 has supported this expedition to achieve their goal. The Team will be given the VNY 2020 flag with the signature of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli which they will hoist on the summit of the mountain.
