KATHMANDU: Tata Group’s hospitality arm Indian Hotels Company has signed pact with Chaudhary Group (CG) to open a new Vivanta hotel in Kathmandu. This will be the company’s second hotel in Nepal after Taj Meghauli Serai in Chitwan.

The hotel is located in Jhamsikhel and has 111 spacious rooms and suites with a selection of rooms offering panoramic views of the beautiful city of Kathmandu.

The hotel will also include all-day dining and specialty restaurants, a bar, banqueting facilities and a spa.

Rahul Chaudhary, managing director of CG Corp Global and director at R&R Hotels and Resorts,  said,

“We are delighted to once again partner with the Indian Hotels Company. After having signed partnership for 12 hospitality projects with the company in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Nepal, we are now introducing the Vivanta brand to Nepal. We look forward to bringing the legendary Indian hospitality to the city of Kathmandu.”

Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive officer at The Indian Hotels Company Limited said, “We are honored to partner with R&R Hotels and Resorts for this new hotel. Kathmandu is an extremely popular tourist destination and this hotel will help us complete a tourist circuit with Meghauli Serai, our Taj Safari lodge in Chitwan National Park.”

R&R Hotels and Resorts have a major shareholding of CG Hospitality. CG Hospitality owns and operates over 95 hotels and resort in 12 countries and 70 destinations. According to the press statement issued by CG Hospitality, by 2020, the portfolio is expected to grow to over 200 hotels. “CG Hospitality has its presence in every class of segments including luxury hotels, business class hotels, safari lodges, resorts and spas, mid-range hotels, holiday destinations and world class residencies,” it said.
