Santo Domingo, RD.- A large delegation, made up of investors, tourist travel agencies, tour operators and Chinese media will visit the Dominican Republic next week, to hold business meetings for the arrival of Chinese tourists to the country.
The Chinese mission, as members of the World Tourism Cities Federation -WTCF, (World Federation of Tourist Cities), will exhaust a series of activities in Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and other tourist destinations.
This event will begin next Monday in Punta Cana and on Tuesday in Santo Domingo, where it has been scheduled to make trips to several points, both in the eastern region, and in the city of Santo Domingo, including the Colonial City and commercial areas.
As part of the agenda, upon arrival in the Dominican capital from Punta Cana, the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García, will welcome the delegation during a business meeting for tourism and investment trade scheduled for Tuesday, at the The Chinese Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Zhang Run and Li Baochum, Secretary General of the WTCF, representatives of that Chinese organization and Mitur officials will be present.
This forum is attended by the main leaders of travel agencies and representatives of television, radio and print media located in Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China. These delegations will arrive this Sunday 7th at the Punta Cana International Airport.
This visit by the WTCF group, the first one to carry out in the country, constitutes an opportunity to establish contacts with representatives of tourism sector entities, travel agents and local tour operators in order to further strengthen the cooperation of both countries in this matter, as well as increase the number of Chinese tourists towards Quisqueya.
It will present 10 of China’s main communications media, 13 executives from travel agencies and buyers, as well as 6 investors.
The event also serves as an ideal setting for the promotion and dissemination of the Dominican destination in Chinese television and press media.
WTCF, is the first international tourist organization with cities as main members, has a total of 211 members comprising some 69 countries and territories and pursues among its objectives, promote and improve mutual understanding and prosperity of the global tourism industry.
