KATHMANDU: Oriental Hotel Limited has reported a robust growth of its net profit in the third quarter of the current fiscal year.
Publishing the unaudited report for the third quarter, the company that runs Hotel Radisson said its net profit [after tax] has increased 6.32 percent to Rs207.4 million in the third quarter of the current fiscal year, as compared to net profit of Rs195.1 million in the same period last fiscal year.
Oriental Hotels said it succeeded to collect Rs 876 million as revenue from sales. Increased tourist arrivals has boosted the hotels revenue. Arrivals crossed the coveted one-million mark for the first time in 2018 with 1.17 million foreign tourists streaming into the country.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal tourism reached the magic figure due to a jump in arrivals from India, China, the US, Sri Lanka and the UK.
The number of tourists visiting Nepal recorded a 24.77 percent growth over last year. Among the total arrivals, 969,287 individuals came by air. Arrivals from Nepal’s southern neighbour grew 25.1 percent to 200,438 individuals.
