Air Peace of Lagos, Nigeria, has ordered 10 E195-E2s. It’s the first African-registered airline to acquire our new-generation E-Jets. The contract includes purchase rights for an additional 20 E195-E2s.
The new E2s will replace some of the carrier’s older single-aisle jets as it embarks on a fleet modernization program that will allow it to add frequencies, fly to new cities, and build connections within Nigeria and across West Africa.
Air Peace acquired its first Embraer airplanes in January 2018. It has a fleet of six 50-seat ERJ145s that it flies in its Air Peace subsidiary. Those aircraft are deployed mostly on domestic routes that previously had few flights.
As Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace has bold expansion plans. It currently serves 20 domestic and international cities and wants to add flights to London, Houston, China and the United Arab Emirates.
